Day 28 – for real?

I cannot believe it.

Where did the time go?

In cultures where we are raised to ACHIEVE, master, complete, and achieve again, it can be almost impossible to slow down and make time for a wellness practice.

In addition, when we do, we want the maximum results in the shortest amount of time.

While this does make sense to me in some circumstances, I fear that it leaves us with no time or freedom to actually relax and feel well tended to.

We are still great big balls (heyo) of stress in our workouts and even in our studio Yoga class.

I have experienced leaving a yoga class feeling wired and stressed – not open, divine, flexible, and loving myself.

Because we are raised to master and achieve, we seek to do this in class – comparing ourselves to others and asking questions like “What do people think of me?”

So – while it might annoy you at first to read “Playful Yoga” (Ughhh), what I am really trying to get at is a practice that takes you out of ACHIEVE mode and into a playful process.

Enjoy the process and get the workout of your dreams!

I dare you to wiggle around in your downward dog.

I double downward dog dare you to do a big Lion’s Breath in your playtime on the mat.

Find Freedom Within the Form!

Find a sense of playfulness and a sense of freedom and wonder!

Day 28 invites you to work out the kinks mindfully. This sequence is a great one for those seeking to improve posture and connect to your core. This is excellent training for those seeking to create a regular and well-rounded home practice. Build strength and flexibility and continue to integrate the breath.
