Notes from Adriene on Day 4:

Happy Day 4 to you!

So far, so good. Even if it has not been perfect.

So far, so good. Yoga has your back.

Yoga has many definitions. It is good to remember that the definitions of this word go beyond the physical, and by origin, link us to the big picture.

In the Bhagavad Gita and other ancient texts, we learn that the definition of yoga is so expansive! It includes all backgrounds, all shapes, all histories, and all schedules. It is an open invitation to participate in one’s life with more presence.

Lately, as a practitioner and as a yoga guide, I have tried to let go of my grip and expectations on the mat.

I let the yoga do the work.

(For I am the Yoga anyway. So, somehow, the yoga (me) knows just what to serve up. Don’t think too hard on this some of you – just trust!)

The ancients texts teach us that by practicing presence we are able to receive the gifts destined for us and we are able to participate in our existence in a way that feels good.

So, Day 4 is a sequence of yummy back stretches and strengtheners. An opportunity to slow it down and remember that each day is different and we will do our best. Get on the mat. If you miss a beat – you can make it up. Don’t throw in the towel! It’s all a part of the participation process.

Trust that by just trusting the participation and the practice your yoga will know exactly what to present.

Let go of expectations! Let the magic be revealed! (I’m serious.)

Stay present with your breath as a way to elevate, motivate, and engage.

You got this.

Enjoy!

Savourer!

Genießen!

Yours,

Adriene
